The Boys were wearing: Reiss (above) and Topman (below).
The guy above is an Aussie (yay!) and works for Reiss while the guy below works as a visual merchandiser at Topshop/Topman. He had been working since the wee small hours of the morning to get the store ready for Fashion's Night Out and was actually on his way home when I photographed him.
Question for the boys: when does one start to roll the trousers down and begin wearing socks again? Is it heat/weather dependant or trend led?
Very smart outfit

ReplyDeletewhat are your thoughts on kentucky ties, or loose/long bowties?

GO THE AUSSIE!! I love what he's wearing and it's so appropriate to go dresses like that to many place but the other guy looks like he's trying too hard and the look doesn't suit him at all.
ReplyDeleteThe second apparently try hard guy is me. First of all the look does suit me. i dont try too hard as that is my normal regular style. And last but not least check your grammer if you are going to go onto fashion blogs and slag people off.
ReplyDeleteAshley- I absolutely have to agree with you: I thought you looked fantastic (and crikey, I see hundreds of people every day as I wander about the streets) and what you are wearing does suit you. If anything my photo was the thing which didn't quite capture the "you" (I still find it hard to capture personality on film even though I try to do so). So, I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to take your photo and for responding- I really appreciate it. What I have always said and will continue to say, is that style is a very personal, individual thing (and that encompasses not only clothes but hair, makeup, tattoos etc)....and what I might consider stylish another person may not (witness the constant commentary on what someone like, say, Pixie Geldof wears). But since this is my blog, I get to put the people on it who I catch my eye- and, Ashley, you were one of them.
ReplyDeleteStefan- Did you see all the Thom Browne shots on The Sart's blog?!!! So obviously the sockless, rolled trouser is still going strong in New York..
re the Kentucky ties, apart from Ashley, I photographed a guy awhile ago wearing one and I thought he looked great- it totally suited him. What I would like to see is some girls wearing the kentucky tie- I think it could work. Let me get back to you after LFW!
Hey Vanessa, its Ashley again. Thank you so much for your comments, its nice to have your look appreciated. Good luck with British Vogue - sooo jealous! Take care.x
ReplyDeleteI saw shots on The Sartorialist blog, I'm still loving feeling a cool breeze on my skinny ankles so I'll continue the look! I agree with you on the kentucky tie situation, its a shame my gf doesnt! ;)
