Berlin Fashion Week.....Jessica
Jessica Weiss from Les Mads online blog. Jessica worked super hard during fashion week- the Les Mads girls were updating hourly!
Freckles + Turban= Perfection
Phew, what a busy week it has been! I have so many photographs to show you guys, both street style and some shoots I have been doing with girls in London and Paris. I just need to find some time to sit down and edit all the photos.
So, Berlin. Many thanks to everyone who gave me tips on where to go, eat, visit while I was in Berlin-I would have been wandering around aimlessly in the heat without your help. Um, did I mention the heat? Dear God, it was HOT! Somebody said it was 41° C on Saturday..... I now know what the underarm sweat pads in the press pack were for (although I still haven't quite worked out how they actually stay on securely....how horribly mortifying would it be if one popped out while you were on a first date?). Apart from the oppressive heat, Berlin was fantastic. Everyone was very helpful, the coffee was great (Cafe Einstein, Espresso Ambulanz and Barcomi's Deli in Mitte were my favourite caffeine recharge spots) and the design (both architectural and interior) was wonderful. However, for me, the best part of visiting Berlin was seeing the Berlin Wall, the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Reichstag - at once bewildering, powerful, astounding and emotive.

wow!!

What gorgeous freckles she has! I love all your recent photos, the light is stunning, none of that awful Sydney glaring light we had!
ReplyDeleteI think one of the photos of me you took Sydney is in Lucky Magazine in the States this month, I'll send you a copy once I have it!
Lucy xx
i like the flowy, drapiness going on in her outfit, in simple black and ivory.
ReplyDeletefreckles and red lips - we share summer staples :)
ReplyDeleteHola everyone! Glad you like the photos of Jessica- I have more to come of her!
ReplyDelete@franca and @Lucy- me too! I LOVE freckles- it kind of annoys me when photographers/art directors cover them up. If I am photographing someone with freckles I want them to show, not be hidden away.
@Lucy- Oooo how did you know about lucky? Is it out yet?! You must let me know :) Actually the light in Berlin was SO bright- which was fabulous except for trying to photograph at the fashion week venue. It is kind of hard to convince people to walk away from the tented area to a shady spot.....so most of my backgrounds are pretty much the same and the lighting is horrid in a lot of the shots except the ones in the late afternoon.
@Ginta- hee hee! Always a great combo!
@Peta- she is gorgeous, huh?! @ Style Odyssey- I love the flowiness of the outfit as well. It is perfect for the very hot weather we had in Berlin- I think anything clingy would be a mistake, sweat pads or no sweat pads!
She's absolutely stunning! Love les mads
ReplyDelete@Clara- yeah, I didn't realise that Jessica got to go to Australia last year for fashion week! Lucky girl!
ReplyDeletei admire a woman who can pull of a turban!!

What on earth are sweat pads and how do we not know about them in Australia?!!!
ReplyDelete@I want what she's wearing- I think it is best they remain secret!!!! Hee hee! Maybe someone who does wear them will let us know how they work! I guess they probably adhear the same as those stick on nipple concealers or something....
ReplyDeleteWow, she's so beautiful! And such a gorgeous outfit.
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring.
in germany most people laugh about lesmads. its trash
ReplyDelete@susan
ReplyDeletethat´s not really true. in fact their
facebook group counts 5500 people and
it´s steadily climbing. most people who
call it trash, just envy the traffic they
get :-)
Stunning! as always you find the best ;)
ReplyDeleteIn first place lesmads is the most succesful german fashion blog... success kindles envy, huh, Susan...
ReplyDeleteCould sweatpads be possibly those sticky thingies that you stick to the armholes of white shirts to prevent them from yellowing as a result of using deodorant? If so, I've seen them in my local Woolworths (I'm in Australia too!). I absolutely adore Jessica's outfit. It's so post-pregnancy friendly! I need those pants stat! Anyway of knowing where I can get something similar???
ReplyDeleteIn Germany daily roundabout 20000 people read lesmads and most of them love it! They won the LeadAward 2010- not without reasons!!
ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty .....loooove the freckles. I wish I had more freckles myself :)
