Good Bye New York, Hallo London!
So I am back in London again. New York is the most amazing, incredible, vibrant place but boy, was it tough during fashion week. The whole experience still feels slightly surreal (probably that is the jet lag kicking in)..... I described it to my husband as feeling like a lion has ripped off my leg, gnawed on the carcass and lazily spat out the remains.
New York has the most beautiful light (except in the middle of the day when it is really harsh- I even got sunburnt), so many gorgeous girls and fantastic backgrounds but I found it challenging to make everything happen together at once. Sometimes I felt like I was spending more time travelling between shows (and getting lost on the subway) than actually doing any photography!

@Chaucee- Yay!! I am so glad you like Lucky! It is such a great magazine and I love that they focus on "real girls" not just models (and not just really expensive, designer items). I wish they sold it in the UK. I bought the latest copy in the US but I need a regular supply! Crikey, I sound like an addict ;)

Marina always does that - wears totally masculine look but looks so feminine! And again a braid! (I almost don't want to cut my hair anymore tomorrow :) But some things just have to be done! :))

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous shots!! And I know what you mean about the harsh noon light. I just used it to overexpose my shots and get a white out background. But it was hard to deal with. Cannot wait to see who/what you photographed while you were here and what you will be putting up from London Fashion Week. I am really looking forward to it.

And I usually don't feel very comfortable in front of street style photographers (who act all hurried when I keep accidentally blinking) but you made it very easy.
