Lucy outside the Rachel Comey show at Peir 59. Her mummy said that Lucy loves fashion as well as her skateboard- got to love that!

  1. @Bird in an Aviary and @Auxpaysdesmerveilles- she is so cute isn't she!! She was quite shy when I first asked her mama if I could take her photo but after a bit of encouragement from her older brother (also adorable) and her mum- and some skateboarding- she was into it!

  8. Lucy is my niece, and even as a toddler she had a flair for fashion and a very personal style. These photos are so beautiful. Thank you for capturing her look and for sharing.

  9. @moira! Ooo so lovely to hear from you! So I guess Lucy and her mum saw the photos? Thank Lucy's mummy for letting me take her photo, and an especially big thanks to Lucy for being such a great sport! She really knew how to ride that board!! I would love to take some more portraits of Lucy and her brother if I come back to NYC if they were up for it. Thanks again Moira for letting us know :)

    Hi Vanessa,

The pictures are so beautiful and they definitely capture Lucy's spirit! Lucy was actually asking if you'd be back in NYC and I told her maybe next fashion week so I'm sure she would love to have you take her pic again. She's enjoyed looking at your blog and picking out which outfits would look good on her and which would look good on me!

  12. One more gushing auntie! She certainly has a flair! It does sting a little when your 3 year old niece criticizes your choice of hosiery, even if she is right. Love the photos.

  13. @Sheila, @Regan and @Kathleen- hello!!! So lovely to read your comments- I am really happy that Kathleen, and of course Lucy, got to see the photos! My card is so small that I suspect I lot of them get lost in people's handbags. It sounds like Lucy has such lovely (and proud) Aunties-she is a really luck girl.

@Kathleen- I will email you closer to when I am coming back to NYC. If you could just send me a little email with your email address on it to neddyjackman@hotmail.com that would be brilliant. I would absolutely love to take some portrait shots of Lucy and her brother- if they are up for it of course! Thanks so much again for allowing me to take Lucy's photo- I think the Australian/Sydney connection helped!

  16. @Carole- hey Carole, I really appreciate you reading the blog!! It means a lot :) I wish I could get on a skateboard now and not worry all the time about breaking a leg or arm! as you get older, things seem to involve more risk!

  18. dear Vanessa Jackman,
hi, it was so fun looking back at these photos that you took of me when I was only in first grade. I had so much fun doing this and I thank you so much for it. I am now 11 and my brother is 13. I never gave up skateboarding but now I sing and I am on the competitive dance team at my school. We are actually in the middle of a competition called Step it Up. Once again I want to thank you for giving me this opportunity, I had so much fun looking back at the photos and the comments.
