Hands down my absolute favourite model to photograph, Ruby Aldridge. Okay, yes she is beyond gorgeous but she is just so super nice as well. I even overheard her in Milan trying to help one of the other photographers catch some of the models before they left for the next show (it gets REALLY crazy once a show finishes). And Cool. Without. Even. Trying.

Love the first picture, it's like a painting, really romantic with the light and I love that you chose to do it in black&white!
Both outfits are really cool, and although I'm all for the relaxed cool look, I think I even like the 2nd outfit a bit more, love how she combined the black accessories with that girly dress, kinda dressing it down.
And I like her even better now after reading what you said, not only gorgeous and stylish, but also nice and helpful!
The first photo is so awesome that it could make me cry! What incredible incredible light. She does seem lovely.

ReplyDelete@Amica- hee hee, yeah, back with more posts in just over a week instead of my normal two weeks, huh?! MUST POST MORE. I procrastinate too much. I have to say that Ruby's first outfit is my fav- just cos is a bit rock n roll and I wasn't ever going to be a rock n roll girl (I did wear a cropped FAME t-shirt back in the 80's though!).....what is it about always liking something that you haven't got?! But I like the prettyiness of her dress in the second...kind of looks vintage?
@PD- well, I actually stuffed up the lighting- it was REALLY backlit so I kind of had to black and white it :) Just bought a film camera though and I think my days of just relying on the back of the camera to get my exposures correct are OVER. Too expensive to make mistakes with a bad-ar*e medium format camera.
@stonecoldvintage- I think the first time I ever photographed Ruby (back in February this year) she was wearing a Kenzo hat, straight from the Kenzo show.
I love the hat and boots in the top picture... and the jacket with the necklace... ok, I like the whole picture. Definitely the style I'm into. My blog is called Punc Rhoc and my style is a bit punk, a bit European, a LOT like hers. Love it!

ReplyDelete@Lucy- hey Lucy, nope, sadly we didn't go home for Christmas. We spent it hear in London but had a short break (love a short break!) in Rome :)) It was brilliant but we were extremely worried about getting home because of the snow situation- luckily it all worked out. Yay! So glad you made it home for Christmas!!!
