June: Paradise as a travel destination (i.e. Ithaca, Greece); Zingy greek salads (salty feta, crisp cucumber, dill, ripe tomatoes and briny olives), creamy moussaka, grilled fish with lemon and olive oil and carafes of house wine in the sun; Inspired by the amazing dips/salads we had on Ithaca, I am making this Greek eggplant dip (Melitzanosalata). Different from baba ghanoush (but just as delicious), go heavy on the garlic and olive oil and serve with toasted sourdough bread; For the summer solstice, we served Aperol spritz (s) - I never know where to put the s! - alongside quail eggs dusted with celery salt, chorizo and prawn skewers, sliced doughnut peaches with Blackwoods Cheese Company Graceburn cheese (Aussie readers familiar with Yarra Valley marinated persian feta will love this!) and Stichelton, drizzled with honey, tiny morsels of bbq'd lamb shoulder on cauliflower puree; J.Crew painted boyfriend pants (a new take on the cargo pant - thank you Jenna! A tank and sneakers for day, a tank and high-heel sandals or a crazy colour pump for evening); Isabel Marant blanket coat (because it is a blankie and a coat, all in one. What's not to love?!); Topshop crochet patch top (shot this top on Saturday on a model. So cute! Granny-chic); 3.1 Phillip Lim 3.1 Phillip Lim mesh yoke poodle pullover (because my mum has a poodle....and this makes me smile!); Carven pleated mini skirt (simple and very Alexa Chung-ish for Autumn/Winter); Suno A line Empire dress (beautiful white for wearing on long summer days which turn into even longer summer nights); Listening to: the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs on Ithaca.
