Rainey

Rainey @ New York Model Management, West Village, NYC, February 2012.

Rainey (how beautiful is her name?) came over to the apartment I was staying in during fashion week so we could take some photographs. Apart from being seriously beautiful (how gorgeous are her green eyes?), she is so much fun, crazy cool and natural in front of the camera (despite being only new to modelling). Like a true Californian girl (she lives between her home in California and NYC), 19 year old Rainey loves skateboarding, bike riding and....wait for it....dirt bike riding! Helllllooooo got to love a girl who adores clothes, shoes AND getting a little messy dirt bike riding! In fact most of the shoot when I wasn't behind the camera, I was flapping about imploring Rainey not to fall off the (random) bike/stoop/stairs in her heels (think it is the lawyer in me ;)

Anyway, thanks to Rainey and her awesome agent Krisana at New York Model Management.

  2. She's one of those girls who's so naturally beautiful that she'll never need to do a lot to her face or buy expensive clothes to look great. I love her face - so gorgeous. Exqueeze me, I now need to go see if they have her book in the NYMM website.

  7. Gorgeous girl, gorgeous clothes, and gorgeous photos! I love the dreamy quality to them. The lighting really sets up the light hues of her clothes and eyes. Nicely done! (And now I'm going to go on a hunt for that striking vest piece Rainey wore in the first few photos. You wouldn't happen to know what brand it was?)

  10. Utterly gorgeous and with such a sense of style - the mix of soft and hard in the first shots is inspired. And i am always imploring others to be careful - think it is the mid 40's, employer, health and safety, terrified of lawyers in me! xx

  13. @everyone - thank you all for your lovely comments about Rainey! Hopefully she will see this post and all the nice things you have written about her :)

@Kim - I agree. She is incredibly versatile and has a great personality - very fun and happy and positive!. Plus she moves extraordinarily well. Brands, take note. p.s. thanks for your first -time comment, much appreciated.

@The Lady Nerd - oh dear, I am sorry I didn't write down any of the labels she was wearing. I know she was wearing some Isabel Marant (I think that was the leather jacket) but I am not sure about the little leather top. Also, underneath the first maxi skirt, she was wearing the cutest pair of teeny (and I am talking so tiny they would only fit my right foot!) pair of leather shorts. A great way to cover up the bits that need covering up under a sheer skirt, particularly in summer when tights just won't work.

@Joana- exactly. She could wear anything and look beautiful.

@fashion and frank - isn't it lovely - the leather top (love the cut out at the front) and the floaty, softness of the skirt work so well together. p.s. how is Frank coping with the wet weather?!

@Mica - my favourite look was the first skirt but I think Rainy loved the "up and down" skirt. And yes, loved the burgundy jeans as well!

  15. @Anon - I hope so. Rainey said she would really love to do Victoria's Secret - I think she would be perfect for it as she has an amazing (healthy) body.
