New York Fashion Week SS 2013....Caroline

Danish model Caroline Brasch Nielsen, after A Show, NYC, September 2012.

An excellent way to deal with the unpredictable summer weather: slip a leather jacket over a pretty summer dress and team with (Chanel!) espadrilles.

Recreate Caroline's look (kind of):

3.1 Phillip Lim Peplum moto jacket,  or 3.1 Phillip Lim tiger-print leather jacket

Free People Arbor dress, Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Western lace dress, Free People Meadows of Lace dress, DKNY racer back dress or Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent belted high-low dress

  1. Ah...those Chanel espadrilles! Hoping to find a pair when I head to Paris next week.

Will you be at 'Couture Week'? Trying to figure out what to pack (need to be uber clever with packing, as I have to pack for 2 toddlers too, and for a 4 week trip!)

  3. @Brigadeiro - love love love those Chanel espadrilles! I am pretty sure my friend Peony picked up a pair last time we were in Paris (they were absolutely gorgeous). Crikey! I do not know how you organise yourself for a 4 week trip WITH TWO TODDLERS!!!! That is organisation central! would definitely go for comfort! And it can be really really hot in Paris at that time of year (one year I think it was around 40 degrees celsius) but fingers crossed it will be nice and mild and in the mid twenties!

@monkeyshines and @Tabet - she always looks great! Another model with excellent personal style.

    1. Tell me about it, and I'm anything but organized at the moment, and keep thinking and rethinking about my packing! My mom (who is in Paris) tells me it's fairly cold in Paris (and London - will visit my sister there for 2 days before Couture Week starts) at the moment (and the weather forecast suggests that too). I might be attending a few more shows than I had anticipated, so am back to the drawing board...

In fact, I am using your pictures/blog as a point of reference as to 'what to wear to couture week' :)

    2. Well, I do not envy you as I have packing anxiety every time I travel (mainly about cameras and how to pack everything in a carry on so nothing photography-related goes in the hold!), let alone with two littlies! Yes, it has been a wee bit chilly in London yesterday but prior to that it was very humid and nasty. So it is difficult to know what will happen!
