Velour magazine's Violaine Bernard, before Theyskens' Theory, NYC, September 2012.
The chicest way to carry your heels! And note Violaine's sweet little ballet flats? Perfect for running around the city/between shows :)
Recreate Violaine's look (kind of):
Current/Elliott The Stadium sweatshirt, Clu side ruffled pullover, Hilfiger Denim striped sweatshirt, or Marc by Marc Jacobs Ben striped sweatshirt
Ella Moss Celeste lace shorts, Miguelina Eric Geometric lace shorts, Anna Sui bohemian eyelet shorts, Eberjey Gypsy traveller Sam shorts, Rag & Bone Clare striped pants, Lna Dreamer lace shorts, Haute Hippie lace shorts, Heather Flounce short or Club Monaco Emma crochet shorts
Topshop Vibrant ballet flats, Yosi Samra two tone ballet flats, Tory Burch Eddie flats, Bloch two-tone ballet flats or Miss KG Lola ballet flats
Look at that shoes on her sholder ! that's so adorable !!

@monkeyshines - correct!
ReplyDelete@cactus - she is adorable isn't she! Only a French girl could carry this off so easily!
@Darcy - they are so sweet aren't they...
Something tells me Violaine is French?
ReplyDeleteJust the way she carries everything off together just makes her appear to be the epitome of a Frenchwoman: classy, sophisticated, and slightly unpredictable. (For the record, that idea is somewhat based on my very slight knowledge of French style, most of which was garnered from Ines de la Fressange's novel Parisian Chic.)
Even seemingly caught at a rather inopportune moment, Violaine manages to look quite put together. Her pixie cut is so adorable (it makes me wish I could pull off that do!) and her earrings look so fancy. Heels slung over the shoulder and wearing only the barest of bare ballet flats, Violaine manages to still look important and gussied up. The oversized striped sweater paired with the lace shorts is rather unexpected but works quite while, especially with those lovely Louboutins Violaine is so nonchalantly carrying. I think the unworn pair of shoes adds just the quirk that this outfit needs and that Violain carries off with aplomb. That lovely smile helps, I'm sure! :)
