Weekend Life....Summer Inspiration (#1)
Summer Inspiration (#1)
Mid-summer: Sunburnt landscapes; bleached blonde wood, French market baskets for piling with fresh produce from the market (or allotment garden); slicked back hair from lazy dips in the ocean; late afternoon light filtering through olive trees and over swathes of golden grass, vases (or old candle containers) filled with fragrant cut herbs: rosemary, mint, lavender, oregano and thyme; natural make-up with just a hint of colour and subtle glow; vines making a last dash up walls warmed by the sun before autumn sets in....

Weekend Life....Spring Inspiration (#2)
Spring Inspiration ((#2)
Glorious spring days: the beauty of vibrant fuzzy yellow mimosa blossoms against a clear blue sky; the scent of daphne in the still of early morning; the prospect of only another month (or two if we are unlucky!) of wearing multiple layers....in the meantime wear a neon yellow bra under a sweater to remind of summer's approach; golden afternoon light on sandstone buildings; a pop of red (a la Gala with her gorgeous scarlet bag) or stunning top to bottom suiting (Erin, who can do no wrong); tiny robins - my favorite bird - building their nests (I can't begrudge the birds that have decided my hanging basket makes wonderful nesting material....I just rather wish they would leave my geraniums alone though! They only just survived the winter frosts.).

Weekend Life.....Winter Inspiration (#1)
Winter Inspiration (#1)
Creamy green hellebores (the loveliest of flowers which emerge in mid to late winter), cherry blossoms, inky black candles to make a dull, grey afternoon a bit more bearable, flushed cheeks - natural or courtesy of a dab of rosebud pink blush, snow covered buildings and footpaths (alas not in London), soft charcoal wool blankets (sofa-time), textured ceramics to serve steaming bowls of soup or a colourful winter salad, rainy day (lost umbrellas), deep violet silk-satin paired with a graphic neck scarf, lips the colour of an autumnal black dahlia with heavily lined eyes (s*rew the rules). Winter.
Black dinner candles (mine are Tom Dixon but I don't think you can buy them anymore)
Vintage brass chamber candle holder from Etsy
Eric Bonnin black vase from the beautiful Spartan Shop, Austin
Charcoal grey throw blanket (mine isn't available anymore but Urbanara has similar throws).
