The utterly fabulous Italian Contessa Marta Marzotto....I would so love to take her photograph again, in a more relaxed environment. I thought she was wonderful.

WOW thank you so much for a beautiful shot of an incredibly stylish (as opposed to fashiony/trendy) and mature woman--such a breath of fresh air after all the models and editors in all the blogs lately. Aspirational! (and I think those shoes might be vintage romeo gigli?)
ReplyDeleteyou'll find her on italian tv most weekends (and weekdays), arguing with whoever doesn't see things her way. she's known for her loud personality in italy but i also like her extravagant style.this is what a contessa should look like!
ReplyDelete@Islandfairy- ooo thank you for the background information,she intrigues me even more now! Did she used to be a model in the 1950/60's? And is she involved in the fashion industry somehow? I would love to take her portrait (and take a peek inside her home!)- I think she would be marvellous to photograph.

@Anon- she is fab, isn't she. I love that she doesn't look like she has had "work" done on her face (maybe she has but it isn't obvious- which is how it should be). I see so many women on the streets who have had awful plastic surgery (I am not against it, I just don't see the point if it makes you look worse. Subtle should be the key word!) and it makes me feel sad- especially when they probably would have looked fab without it.
